About

Undocumented Press was founded in 2018 by Luca Messarra as a means for publishing detournéd digital texts as library simulacrums.

Today, Undocumented Press solicits and publishes works of creative scholarship which archive, edit, glitch, and historicize digital culture. We are particularly interested in works that stress and break various academic textualities, and utilize the poetics of the PDF and/or codex as an essential element of the work. Operating at the intersection of praxis and performance, all of our works are assigned a relevant library call number, given library paratexts, and shelved into research libraries across the United States and beyond.

Undocumented Press is committed to the belief that the products of human knowledge should be made free and accessible for all. Our publications are available for download as PDFs, and are additionally available at-cost as print on demand books. In accordance with the mission of our founding piece, Poetry of America, we encourage you to purchase these books and seed them into your local library. Any interested party may write to us at undocumentedpress@protonmail.com to receive complimentary call number slips that you may affix to your books before placing them into the library.
